"I like her." <-- this moment in the story is so cute!

I ADORED this Aladdin retelling. It was a perfect mixture of a fresh and unique story, coupled with just the right amount of little easter egg moments (referencing the Aladdin story we’re all so familiar with).

Princess Aerie has a Jinni’s gift of being able to hear other people’s thoughts. But in a world ruled by men and a King trying to force her hand into an unwanted marriage, in order to steal her kingdom, Princess Arie has to figure out how to save her kingdom, her Father and herself without giving away her secrets.

This story is utterly delightful. I gobbled it right up and can’t wait to continue reading this sweet series.

The romance that blossoms between frightened but feisty, Arie, and the clever, genuine crook, Kadin, is deliciously sweet, but unsteady. The world is definitely spinning around them, and they both have their own agendas, but they still find time to deepen their growing affections (give me all the romance!).

The Stolen Kingdom has a fast moving plot, full of schemes and mystery (and romance). This was a quick and easy read, and I felt completely immersed in this world (I’m so glad there are more books because I didn’t want to leave it).

Like I said earlier, I adored this story. I definitely read it REALLY fast and could hardly put it down. I love the story of Aladdin, Princess Jasmine has always been one of my favorite Princesses, and this story gave me everything I crave from an Aladdin-ish tale. A feisty strong heroine, a magical world, unraveling mysteries, a diamond in the rough love interest *swoon*, deep friendships and a whole new world. <wink>

Bethany Atazadeh’s writing is captivating and her story is enchanting.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves Fairytale retellings, clean romance and a fun new magical world.

BOOK 1: THE STOLEN KINGDOM

How can she protect her kingdom,

if she can’t protect herself?

Princess Arie never expected to manifest a Jinni’s Gift. When she begins to hear the thoughts of those around her, she hides it to the best of her ability. But to her dismay, the forbidden Gift is growing out of control.

When a neighboring king tries to force her hand in marriage and steal her kingdom, discovery becomes imminent. Just one slip could cost her throne. And her life.

A lamp, a heist, and a Jinni hunter’s crew of thieves are her only hope for removing this Gift--and she must remove it before she’s exposed. Or die trying.

The Stolen Kingdom is a loose “Aladdin” retelling. Set in a world that humans share with Mermaids, Dragons, and the elusive Jinni, this isn’t the fairytale you remember…
