How to Download an Ebook to Kindle App

How to add ebook to Kindle app - step-by-step tutorial on how to manually add ebook to Kindle.jpg

If you’ve never downloaded an ebook to your Kindle App before, then you’ll want to read this how-to. I would say it’s easy, and it is, but the very first time does have a lot of steps. So, let me help you through this Amazon journey and get you reading that ebook asap!

Step 1

Download the Kindle App. (If you’ve already done this you can skip this step.)

  • *Note: You do NOT have to have a Kindle device in order to use and access this app. (I personally use this app on my phone.)

Step 2

Log in to the Amazon account (use the same email address as for your Kindle App).

Step 3

Go to your account

Step 5

Click on “Manage Devices”

Step 6

Go to “Preferences”

Step 7

Scroll down until you find “Personal Document Settings”

  • This is where you’ll find your Kindle email address (which you will need again later, so grab it now).

  • *Note: You can also find this Kindle email address inside of your App. You do NOT have to login to your Amazon account every time you need to remember it. <wink>

Step 8

Scroll down to the very next section, “Approved Personal Document E-mail List”.

  • Click on “Add a new approved e-mail address”

  • Type in your email address(es)

Part 2

  1. Download your .mobi file.

  2. Email .mobi file to your @kindle.com email address

  3. Go double check that your ebook has been uploaded to your Kindle app. (This may take some time depending on your internet speed.)

  4. YOU’RE DONE!

YOU DID IT!

GOOD NEWS . . . you really only have to do ALL these steps the very first time OR any time you need to add a new email address as an approved email address for your Kindle app.

I hope this tutorial was helpful.

Please share it with anyone who may need this.
